June 17, 2004: From John Dickinson, General Manager – ACI Plastics Packaging Asia Pacific ACI has reached an agreement to sell a substantive part of its Plastic Packaging business to Visy Industrial Plastics Pty Ltd (in Australia) and Visy Industrial Plastics (NZ) Limited (in New Zealand), both wholly owned subsidiaries of Visy Industrial Packaging Holdings Pty Ltd. This sale excludes ACI’s Beverage Containers business in Australia. As Visy Industrial Plastics is purchasing the business as a going concern, it will retain all current ACI personnel working directly in this business. ACI is selling its Plastic Packaging business as part of a global program by Owens-Illinois, ACI’s parent company, to allow the organization to concentrate its resources entirely on its core businesses worldwide. The change of ownership will be finalized on Friday, June 18, 2004. Return to Archives
