Alcan sells tubes business
Alcan Inc., Montreal, QE, sells aluminum tubes business to its management team, investment fund, 21 Centrale Partners, Paris, France for undisclosed sum.
Sale includes plants in Saumur, France; Kolin, Czech Republic; Cividate al Piano, Italy, 780 employees, annual sales of about US $85 million.
“This new entity will be a leader in the aluminum tubes business,” says Christel Bories, president/ceo of Alcan Packaging. “Alcan’s strategy is to further direct our investments on markets with better growth rates, such as our other tube businesses - plastic and laminate - which remain a core operation within Alcan Packaging’s beauty sector."
